About Us
Established in 2005 and now operated by architectural designers Phil Stanfield and Rhys James, the Emerge Architecture team is involved in a wide range of design projects, from simple new homes and additions, to large and bespoke architecturally designed homes.
Emerge Architecture have also completed many new commercial buildings, renovations, and fit outs. The practice has an interest in, and has completed, many sustainable and energy efficient new homes. We coordinate with and work alongside a number of other specialist consultants as a project requires. We can take a project from feasibility and design studies, construction documentation, tendering, consenting approvals and contract administration.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Both Phil and Rhys are Professional Members of Architectural Designers of New Zealand (ADNZ), and are active in regional and national ADNZ events. ADNZ requires its members to abide by their code of ethics and rules for membership, as well as maintaining a programme of continuing professional development.
Additionally, both Phil and Rhys are Licensed Building Practitioners (Design 2) with the Department of Housing and Building, and are Professional Members of DANZ Design Association of New Zealand Inc.

E-CAD Limited is our associated design and draughting service, formed in response to various approaches from group housing companies and residential developers, to provide a tailored ongoing architectural draughting service.
We have developed efficient systems to document standard residential projects for our ongoing clients, at competitive rates and with quick turnaround times, using either existing standard designs, or designs created by us for specific sites or subdivisions.
E-CAD offers this service throughout New Zealand, with projects already completed in Auckland, Hamilton, Taupo, New Plymouth, Manawatu, Horowhenua, Kapiti Coast, Wellington and the Wairarapa.
